The Renaissance Faire Wench (QLAF)

Quirky Liberal Alpha Female

The hardest part about being the Renn. Faire Wench is that people often mistake you for a beta female. This is not so. You might be quite flirtatious, but you are hardly relient on men. You like to do things the mainstream would consider weird, (like dress in costume, perhaps?). Eat, drink, and be merry, but make sure whoever you date respects you and does not take advantage of your laid-back attitude. (BTW, you are likely the only type who can see That Creepy Guy (NLBM) for who he is, helping him to bring out the Manga Geek (QLBM) inside. This does not mean you have to date one, however. You are quite flexible and can enjoy the company of many of the types.)

You are more QUIRKY than NORMAL.

You are more LIBERAL than TRADITIONAL.

You are more DOMINANT than PASSIVE.

When picking a date, consider: The Lord of the Misfits (QLAM), The Fratt Boy (NLAM), The Snowball's Chance in Hell (QTBM), The Manga Geek (QLBM), or That Creepy Guy (NLBM).

Your result for The Where in America Do You Belong Test...

East Coast

48% Independent, 17% Traditional, 50% Liberal, 61% Aggressive

The East Coast includes the New England states with a few others. They are the oldest region in the nation and they know it.

The East Coast gets credit for being tolerant, but that's only by one definition of the word. East Coast culture has every bit the high standards of behavioral expectation that the South does, just on different (Usually opposite) things.

Ok so I lost my job today. Oh well! I hated it anyway. I'll apply for unemployment tomorrow and go from there.

Honestly I'll be glad to be home for a little while. Get stuff done here, finally! Get some projects done that I've started. And, basically try to actually relax a little!

I've got about everything needed for the lunch tavern for university on saturday. Food glorious food!

Your result for Which Chess Piece are You Test?...

The Queen's Confidante

The Queen's Confidante is the first to hear the beat of a different drum. Many plunge into the avant garde experience and generally set the trend for their friends. They are more in touch with reality using their senses but this makes them want to live for the ‘here and now’. The Confidante is full of charm and may flow with compliments even if it isn’t deserved. Rather than write a poem on the beauty of life – they would rather live out the written story of beauty.

The Queen’s Confidante is usually peaceful and easygoing in nature. They usually adopt a 'live and let live' approach to life. They take things at their own pace and live for the moment. They may be quiet but are pleasant, considerate and caring. They may not be inclined to debate or air their views, but of course their values are important to them. They will solve problems as they arise especially if it concerns people. Generally the Confidante is one who develops great team spirit through the promotion of cooperation. They will only repeat facts without placing too much spin or interpretation on them. Because of this they may be the best mediators.

The Confidante is sensitive to its environment, and much more perceiving than others with regards to the physical world. They can notice variations in behavior of others. They are highly conscious of companions and friends, but they prefer to let others direct. This ‘Pawn’ is rarer than others because they are emotionally well rounded with a great degree of empathy. Because of this empathy, they can be overly concerned with ‘feelings’. They may even sacrifice their ideals and not contribute enough, especially if they don’t wish to exercise criticism.

Your result for The hardcore SCA Test ...

King's Advisor
You scored 77% hardcore SCA!

You may just be older than dirt, or a raving lunatic. You are about as involved as you could possibly be in the SCA. When you are at events you probably look like you just stepped out of a book. You're blood runs in kingdom colors, you are probably a peer, and your living room probably looks a lot like your campsite. You should probably get some help for your addiction, or see if someone will write a book about you.

Share this test with your friends! OR DIE!!!

Ok, so my canton won the bid for this event. Yippee!

So what do I get to do for this event? Cook. Do I get to play with my new heraldry books...nnoooooo....do I get to sit and schmooze and speak geeky heraldeze....noooooo.....I have to cook. Sigh. But,that's ok too. I love to cook. So if you're coming to the event I'll be at the lunch tavern making sure people eat!

Now, if you went to a lunch tavern, in October (possibly chilly out, possibly not) what would you like to see there? Period or not?

Your Score: Measure for Measure

You scored 18% = Tragic, 68% = Comic, 21% = Romantic, 48% = Historic

You are Measure for Measure. Originally classified as a comedy but now regarded amongst the "Problem Plays", Measure for Measure is a story of truth, justice, mercy, forgiveness, and humility. What your score tells us about you is that you are most likely an outgoing person, who believes in doing what is right. While you may sometimes abuse your power in certain situations, for the most part you are kind-hearted and sincere. Not that abusing your power is necessarily a bad thing. Remember, as the play tells us "some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall." We just want to make sure you don't get too greedy for power and end up like that Macbeth guy!

Update on my mom...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Thunder!
Ok, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving we drove up to see my mom. She was still in ICU from her surgery the previous Wednesday. She didn't look too bad! She was really surprised to see us. And surprised at how much Patrick has grown since she last saw him. So we stayed for about an hour and then turned for home. I found out that they did surgery but not a colostomy. This is a good thing. I can't see an 89 year old woman having to worry about a colostomy bag...ya know?

Anyway, my sister found a nursing home for our mom that's about 10 minutes from her house. This is the best thing for Nan (that's what we call her...after years of grandchildren calling her Nana...I'm sure you get it). She'll have people around her all the time now instead of just sitting in her apartment all by herself. She still isn't getting up out of bed but I'm sure that will change next week. She just got there on Friday. All in all I think she'll be just fine where she is. (I already checked out the nursing home on line and it is rated pretty good...thank goodness!)

Anyway, we're trying to get the house ready for Hanukkah which starts on Tuesday night. Presents!!!! Whoo hooo!!!! And then our holiday party after that.
